Labels are not applied to lip balm, chap stick or small diameter containers. The label either goes over the container or pushes the container off the rollers. (AP360/AP362)

Since these containers are so small they can be challenging to apply labels to. They are within the applicator specifications but they work best with certain label stock.

Tips:
  1.  More Pressure. Rest your hand on top of the container pressure arm as you are applying labels.

  2. Half-Speed Mode. Enable half-speed mode.

  3. More Diameter. Add more diameter to the container pressure arm roller by wrapping it with as much tape as the arm bracket will allow.  This will give the arm more pressure.

  4. Core Memory. Any curve of the label coming off the roll can cause it to go over the container instead of under it.  Reduce the curve of the label coming off the roll.  See the tips below:

    1. Use a new roll or a larger roll of labels. Labels have more and more curve the closer you get to the core of the stock.  They "remember" that curve went they come off the roll.
    2. The older the roll and the longer the labels have been on the core the more memory they will have.  Use a new roll that was recently converted/cut.
    3. Certain types of label stock material have more or less curve memory.  Often thicker paper stock will come off the roll with less curve.  However, paper labels tend to work better than synthetic labels like Polyester, Vinyl, or BOPP. Try different label stock.
    4. Attach a hold-down stick to the container pressure arm. Use two - one on either side of the arm.  The stick could be made of plastic, wood, or metal. To minimize the chance of the label sticking to the stick, the tip should be as round and smooth as possible.  (Example: cotton swab stick, coffee stir stick, any rounded metal rod such as a screwdriver).  Tip: Glue a strong magnet to the metal/plastic rod so the stick is more easily adjustable and removable.

    5. Reroll the label stock upside down (top of label facing inward) onto a new core to counteract curve.  Leave the rolls in the upside-down state for as long as possible.  When you are ready to use them, reroll it again with the labels facing out.   Follow this procedure to reroll the labels.
