My LX610 or LX600 is skipping, slipping, printing over on the same spot or printing out of alignment left to right. Feed Stall. (LX610-LX600)
There are several reasons for skipping labels or a feed stall error on the LX-Series printers. A full article explaining all of the possibilities can be found
here. See below for the LX600/LX610 specific reasons.
- Blue Guide Diameter is too large. Check for the issue described in this article.
- The wear strip is protruding into the feed path blocking the label stock. See this article.
- Labels are too narrow or do not meet specifications. If your label backing/liner is less then 2 inches wide, the printer will not have enough pinch roller pressure to consistently feed the labels. They may start to walk to one side or the other causing slipping, overprinting or alignment problems. You must use label stock with a liner that is 2" or wider. The printer can print on narrower labels as a 0.5" label. They just need to be on a wider liner which is 2" or wider. Speak with our custom label department to discuss the options. Many customers choose to create labels that have multiple labels across the liner instead of just one label. This stabilizes the label stock and will promote better feeding.
- Label Guide is engaged. Make sure the blue movable throat guide is touching the side of the label stock in the back of the printer infeed area.
- Check for a paper jam or dust build-up. Cut dust or cut fragments can build up between the print/cut area and the output. Clear any obstructions in this area.
- Roll Diameter too large. If the roll diameter is larger than 6" it does not spin freely and probably will not feed cleanly through the printer. Primera label stock is always under 6".
