Normally, the paper out error indicates that you are at the end of a roll of label stock. You will need to load another roll of media in the printer.
If the media is loaded, and the error appears when you send at print, or the error appears at printer startup with no media loaded, it means that the cable connecting the smart chip sensor has not been properly installed. Review the setup video. This connection is shown at the 1:10 location. Make sure this wire is securely connected.
If the wire is connected and you have already loaded new media in the printer, but the error still occurs when you start printing, try one of these solutions:
In PrintHub, go to Printer Settings - Advanced - Press the Calibrate Paper Sensor button. It will prompt you to remove the paper from the printer. Press the unload button to do so.
Blow out the sensor area with canned air. Remove the paper from the printer and place the nozzle of the air can in the paper infeed location.
Finally, move the gap sensor position slider back and forth to possibly dislodge any obstructions.
This can also be caused by an unreadable smart chip in your digital die-cut media in some rare cases. However, there are usually other symptoms present, which is explained in this article.
