Make sure the paper type is set to Labels or Custom Type 5. Changing the paper type only affects the speeds of the paper as it travels through the printer. It will not affect quality. No matter what type of stock is loaded, the Paper Type should be set this way.
1. Press the Menu key on the printer's control panel
2. Select the Paper Menu
3. Select Paper Size/Type
4. Select MP Feeder Size/Type
5. Choose "Universal" - Then choose "Custom Type 5" or "Labels"
Note: You may have to press the down arrow repeatedly to view all the options on a particular menu.
