Long labels are not feeding straight or printing crooked. Labels over 12 inches do not feed - display TOF Error. (LX910, LX3000, LX4000)
When labels are loaded for the first time, the printer attempts to find the gap between the first label and the second label. This is used to calibrate the length of the label and calibrate the gap sensor to look for similar gaps every x number of inches. To conserve label stock the printer then reverses the label stock to print at the beginning. On longer, narrower labels the reversing process can cause the labels to feed crooked which causes a curved, crooked, or warped print.
There are several ways to fix this using Print Hub for PC. Go to the Printer Settings - Advanced Settings button.
1. Reduce Reverse Speed. Reduce in increments of 5. This will not slow down printing in normal operation since the printer rarely reverses feed.
2. Set Load Behavior to Cut First Label. This will cause the printer to cut off the first label and start printing on the second label. This will mean a wasted label but all subsequent labels will feed straight.
3. Adjust Max Label Search Length. If your label is over 12" long you may encounter a TOF error when you first load the label stock. By default, the printer will stop searching for a gap after the initial 12 inches are fed into the printer. You can increase this search length in the settings to accommodate longer labels.
