Invalid audio format error when adding files to an audio project (PTPublisher).

Invalid audio format error when adding files to an audio project (PTPublisher).

WAV, MP3 or WMA tracks created or extracted using other applications must be in the following format before adding them to PTPublisher:

Audio Sample Rate: 16bit
Channels: 2 (stereo)
Audio Sample Rate: 44 khz
Bit Rate: 1411 kbps (Optional)

If your files are in this format check the following.

1. Re-create your Project. If you are opening your PTPublisher project and receiving this error you may need to recreate the job.  Start a new audio project and re add the wav, mp3 or wma files to your project.  This error may appear if you have updated your OS, changed PCs or otherwise changed the audio file location paths.

2. Re-export your audio files.  Go back to your original source audio and recreate your files.  One or more may have become corrupted.  Re add the new files to a new audio project.

3. Try a different audio format.  If you have been using wav, files, try using MP3 files or WMA files instead.

4. Upgrade the Burn Engine.  Follow these instructions:
  1. Run the pxengine5_08_40b.EXE in the zip at this location. (Extract the zip file first) https://workdrive.zoho.com/file/8mcka838bc3581759466b9f40b3b0e2ead07e
  2. Copy the PXSDKPLS.DLL from the Zip to this location C:\Program Files (x86)\Primera Technology\PTPublisher
  3. Reboot.
5. Try a new PC or reinstall Windows from scratch.  In some cases we have found the files that control burning are irreversibly corrupted especially after upgrading the computer from a lower OS.  The only way to fix it is to use a completely new computer or reinstall Windows on the same computer.

Work around:

If you just need a quick fix for some audio files that not working use Windows Media Player, Nero or some other burning application to burn a master audio disc.  Then use the PTPublisher Copy Project to copy that audio disc.
