How to set driver defaults for Primera Printers via the CUPS interface for Mac.

To change the default settings for your printer driver on a Mac, you can utilize the CUPS (Common Unix Print System) web interface. Here's a step-by-step guide:

A. Enable the CUPS web interface

1. Open Terminal (located in /Applications/Utilities) or search for Terminal.



2. Type the following command and press Enter: sudo cupsctl WebInterface=yes.

3. Enter your administrator password when prompted. A small lock icon will appear.  Type you Password and hit enter.  You will not be able to see your password or any indication it has been entered.



 B. Access the CUPS web interface

1.Open your preferred web browser and type in http://localhost:631.

2. Alternatively, you can navigate directly to the Printers page: http://localhost:631/printers/



3. Navigate to printer settings

4. Click on the Printers tab.

5. Select the printer you wish to modify from the list.

6. In the Administration dropdown menu, select Set Default Options.



7. This will display a page with several tabs, including "Options Installed", "General", "Banners", and "Policies".

8. Click on the General tab.

9. Scroll down to find the desired default option you want to change (e.g.,Color Matching, Print Quality, Saturation)

10. Make your changes and click Set Default Options.
