How to convert a Dye Ink LX3000 to a Pigment LX3000 or vice versa.
All LX3000s have identical parts. However, the model can be purchased in two variations: Dye or Pigment Ink. The only difference is the type of ink tanks and print heads that come in the box. Once you use the print head and tanks, that type of ink starts to flow into the reservoir and tubes inside the printer. So if you want to switch to a different type, you will first need to remove the other type of ink. If you mix dye and pigment ink types, it can cause quality problems and clogged print heads. However, at any point you can recover full quality and use of the printer by purchasing a conversion kit and following these instructions.
