How do I prepare my unit for shipping to Primera for repair or exchange?

The instructions below should be followed for each product before boxing.   It is best to use the original box and foam/cardboard supports. If you do not have the box, package the product in a box large enough to leave space on all sides. Do not use packing peanuts as filler material since the product will settle to the bottom of the box. Bubble wrap, wrapped in alternating directions, would probably work best. You can purchase a box from our spare parts store.

Bravo Disc Publisher Series Products (Except Bravo SE)

To prepare for shipping, remove the disc bins/holders, close the front cover, then do the following:
  1. With the front cover closed, unplug power from the unit.
  2. Press and hold the Cartridge Button.
  3. While continuing to hold the Cartridge Button, apply power to the unit.

Continue to hold the Cartridge Button. The robotics will undock and the arm will lower. Power will shut off automatically once the robotics are in transport position. If you don't have the cardboard spacer, slide the arm gently to the right and secure it with masking tape and close the cover. (If you are unable to move the arm into shipping position because of an arm stall problem, please slide the arm gently to the right and secure it with strips of masking tape and close the cover.) Send your print cartridge with the printer for service.  This will prevent the cartridges/print head from drying up outside of the printer during service and allow the service techs to analyze the cartridges if necessary.
