How do I manually install firmware on my Primera Printer? (Instructions apply to upgrade or downgrade)

PC

To manually install firmware, follow this procedure.
  1. Download the PRFile32.exe utility

  2. Drag and drop the correct firmware on the utility icon.

Note: The firmware can be obtained from tech support and sent via email.  Consult with tech support regarding the necessity and feasibility of the downgrade.  It is not always possible to downgrade firmware on all printer models depending on Serial Numbers/Circuit board revisions.

  3. The utility will open to a standard print window.

  4. Choose the printer.

  5. Click OK.  The printer will reset if it is successful.

  6. Check the firmware on the printer settings page in PrintHub or in the printer preferences - Details windows.

Note:  If using Print Hub, you will still be prompted to update the firmware on this printer in the future.  You will need to ignore these prompts.  You may still update all other software.
