Rosetta is a program that runs in the background on your Mac which allows programs written for Intel chip Macs to run on the the new Mac M1 or later chip series. See the important notes and instructions below:
- Rosetta must be installed to print to our printers and open the configuration utility (config utility).
- Mac's purchased after November of 2020 have Apple Silicon (M1 or higher chips) and need Rosetta installed.
- Any new Mac will need Rosetta installed. If you have had your Mac for a while you may have already installed Rosetta for a different app. Once it is installed for one app it works for all aps on that Mac.
- To install it you simply open any app that requires it and the Mac will prompt you to install it.
