How do I completely Remove and Reinstall SureThing?

Occasionally, SureThing registry settings that allow PTPublisher to communicate with SureThing may become corrupted.  This is especially likely if multiple versions of SureThing have been installed. Use these instructions to uninstall and reinstall SureThing.

  1. Uninstall all SureThing programs including any Deluxe full version programs. (Start - Settings- Control Panel -Add Remove Programs - Find SureThing and Remove)  On Windows 10 search for "Add or Remove Programs."
  2. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Surething Shared - Delete the "Surething Shared" folder.  This does not get removed during an uninstall.  Ensure none of your designs are saved here.  This is not common but it is possible to save your designs to this folder.
  3. Reboot.
  4. Reinstall SureThing.

If the error persists try unregistering the DLL using this procedure:

  1. Go to Start Menu, search for "Run" Copy the text in red to the Run box and press enter. regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Surething Shared\stcd3control.dll"
  2. Now complete the uninstall and Reinstall using the instructions above.
