This article applies to the following products: LX500, LX600, LX610, LX910, LX3000, LX4000, IP60 and Eddie .
PC Instructions
You can install multiple printers on the same computer and use them simultaneously. To do
so, you will need to change the USB serial number identifier of one of the two printers, two of three printers, three of four printers, etc. To change serial numbers:
1. Open Primera PrintHub. Go to the Printer Settings Tab. Click Advanced Settings. The USB Serial Number section is the first item on the list.
2. Connect each new Printer one at a time separately. Do not connect them both at the same time yet. The current USB Serial Number will be
displayed.
3. If both serial numbers are the same, click Generate. It will find the next available USB Serial Number based on the currently
connected printer(s). For the first one, it should set it to 2, and for the next printer, 3, and so
on.
4. Click Set. You will hear the Printer reset, and the settings window will turn gray. After it
resets, you will be able to see the settings window again. Keep the Printer connected.
5. Now you can connect the next Printer. Windows will automatically install a new driver
for that new Printer and name it Color Label <printer name> (Copy 1). You can rename it later by
editing the printer properties in the Windows printer list.
6. You will now see a second printer appear in the left column – Color Label <printer name> (Copy 1).
Click on it to display information about this Printer. If this is the last Printer, you are done. If you wish to connect additional printers, follow steps 3-5.
Mac Instructions
While it is possible to print to multiple printers of the same model on a Mac, there are some limitations.
- The config utility does not currently support multiple instances. It displays ink levels, errors, and settings, but it is not clear which printer they apply to, since there is currently no printer driver name listed in the config utility. If you need to change settings or determine ink levels, you will need to disconnect one of the printers from USB. That way, you'll know that the information displayed is for the still-connected printer. (A future driver update may add support for multiple instances of the config utility.)
- Setting USB serial numbers can be accomplished by temporarily connecting one Eddie to a PC as the instructions above indicate. If you don't have a PC, you can also use the instructions below to set the serial number via Mac Terminal.
Set USB Serial Number on a Mac.
1. Save the USB SN Files attached to this article to the Downloads folder (or some other known location).
2. Open Terminal -- (Press 'Command' + 'SPACE') to pull up spotlight search and then type in: Terminal

3. Make sure only one printer is powered on and connected with the USB cable
4. Type in the following in Terminal:
- For Eddie: lp -d PTI_Color_Cookie Downloads/SetUSBSerial-002.prn
- For LX3000 lp -d Primera_Technology_Inc__Color_Label_3000 Downloads/SetUSBSerial-002.prn
- For Bravo SE-3 lp -d Primera_Technology_Inc__Disc_Publisher_se3 Downloads/SetUSBSerial-002.prn
- For LX610 lp -d PTI_Color_Label_610 Downloads/SetUSBSerial-002.prn
- For LX910 lp -d PTI_Color_Label_910 Downloads/SetUSBSerial-002.prn
- For IP60 lp -d PTI_Color_Photo_IP60 Downloads/SetUSBSerial-002.prn
5. The printer will reset. When it comes back online, the Mac will automatically install the second driver. Example: PTI_Color_Cookie 2
6. Now simply connect another printer, and it will automatically use the first driver installed since all printers initially have USB Serial 001 installed.
7. If you would like to add more than two printers, repeat the process in step 4 with the SetUSBSerial-003.prn file attached. To switch between the printers, just choose the printer to which you would like to print, either PTI_Color_Cookie or PTI_Color_Cookie 2
