“A robot was found but no drive was found” error when opening PTPublisher on Mac.
Typically, this means the drive in the Bravo is not being recognized by the Mac.
Go to Apple – About this Mac – More Info – Hardware - Disc Burning.
You should see an extra CD or DVD drive in there, besides the drive in your Mac.
(Two extra drives if you have a Bravo Pro/XRP/Pro Xi2)
If it is not listed, try the following suggestions to get the drive to be recognized by the Mac.
1. Plugin Sequence. Try this sequence for getting the Mac to recognize the Bravo’s drive:
a. Shutdown your Mac.
b. Unplug everything from the back of the unit.
c. Restart your Mac.
d. When it is completely up, replug the power cable and USB into the back of the unit.
e. Wait 5 seconds, then go to Apple – About this Mac – More Info – Hardware - Disc Burning.
If the drive is shown and the printer driver is installed, you should be able to open PTPublisher.
2. USB Port. Try a different USB port. Do not plug the Bravo into a hub or a pass through port on an external drive.
3. USB Cable. Try a different USB cable. We do not recommend using any cable longer than 6 foot.
4 USB 2.0 Make sure you have a USB 2.0 port on your MAC. The Bravo requires a high speed USB 2.0 port to properly function. A USB 2.0 port looks exactly the same as a regular USB port so there is no way to tell what you have by looking at the port. Running the Bravo on a USB 1.1 connection (regular USB) will make it burn more slowly and may cause other issues. You will be limited to about 4x burning CDs and about 1x burning DVDs.
5. Alternate Mac. Try the Bravo on a new Mac. You do not need to install any software. Just plug in the USB cable and after a few seconds you should be able to see the drive in System Profiler.
